Contract Extension for Season 2021/2022: Gabriel Mannino

Mqabba F.C. has reached an agreement for a one year contract extension with Argentinian defender Gabriel Nazareno Mannino which will be the 3rd foreigner for the coming season.

During the last season which was his first in Malta, the 26 year old defender played 19 games, scored two goals and assisted one.

Gabriel has also a good experience in his homegrown country Argentina where he played in the 2nd tier for several seasons with Club Atletico Platense. Before coming to play in Malta, Gabriel gained some experience in European football where he played in Italy for Afro-Napoli United in the Italian Serie C.

We wish Gabriel the best of luck for this new experience in the red colours.

After the Annual General Meeting held on Tuesday 8th June at the Clubhouse, the new committee for the season 2021/2022 was appointed and the designations are as per below:

New Signing for Season 2021/2022: Jeremy Busuttil

The Club has reached a one year agreement with the 22 year old defender Jeremy Busuttil.

Jeremy started his football carer with Hamrun Spartans where he made his debut in the Premier league in season 2018/2019.

The season after Jeremy made a move to Santa Lucia and had a positive season which brought the interest of Zejtun Corinthians who signed him for season 2019/2020. During that season, Jeremy played 10 times, won the Challenge League and also gained the promotion to the Premier League.

Last season Jeremy joined Qrendi F.C. and was a regular first team player where he played all the 17 matches of the season.

New Signing for Season 2021/2022: Thomas Veronese

The club has reached an agreement with the Italian Left Wing/Back Thomas Veronese.

After his professional carer in Italy playing in both Serie B & Serie C, Thomas joined premier league side Mosta in Season 17/18. During that season Thomas was a regular team player where he played 26 games.

In Season 18/19 Thomas, played for Tarxien Rainbows where he played 22 matches and netted 2 goals. The next season Thomas Joined Gzira United and made his debut in the UEFA Europa League Qualifications. Last season Thomas played for Gudja United in his 4th season in the Maltese Premier League.

With his experience, we hope that Thomas bring a positive winning mentality to help our club reach the season objectives!

New Signing for Season 2021/2022: Lee Agius

The Club has reached an agreement with Lee James Agius.

Earlier Today, the 30 year old midfielder signed a one year contract for season 2021/2022.

Agius began his football career with Hamrun Spartans where he played 73 games, scored 3 goals and assisted another 3.

He played for several teams in the Challenge League such as Zebbug Rangers, Naxxar Lions, Santa Lucia F.C. and last season he played for St. Georges F.C. During the last season Aguis was a regular first team player where he played 19 games and scored 1 goal.

We hope that his vast experience in the Maltese football will help our club reach the targets set for the coming season while we wish him the best of luck with the red shirt!

New Signing for Season 2021/2022: Luka Mijic

The Club has reached an agreement with the 25 year old, Serbian striker Luka Mijic.

Luka has a good experience in the Maltese football. He was brought in Malta by Marsa F.C. in January 2018 where he scored 10 goals in 13 matches. The season after Luka joined Sirens F.C. and helped the Club winning the The BOV Challenge League and gaining promotion to the Maltese top tier.

Luka had a season with Pembroke Atleta where he scored 11 goals in 17 matches and last season he played for Zebbug Rangers in the BOV Challenge League as well. he made a good impact with the club by scoring 8 goals and was a regular first team player throughout the whole season.

Goran Adamovic is confirmed as Head Coach for season 2021/2022

Goran Adamovic is confirmed as Head Coach for season 2021/2022.
After his carrer as a professional player with Red Stars Belgrade and playing 5 seasons in the Maltese Premier League, Goran obtained his coaching licence and took in charge of the senior team last February. Under his instructions last season our club gained 7 points in 4 matches until the league was declared nul due to the pandemic.
We wish Goran the best of luck for the coming season!

BOV Challenge league terminated for this season

Due to current pandemic situation in our country, the BOV Challenge League has been terminated for this season. Once again, for the 7th consecutive season Mqabba F.C. will play in the BOV Challenge League the coming season 2021/2022.

Jonathan Debono – The Spartan

Seasons end, but respect lasts forever! All the Mqabba FC clan, would like to congratulate our ex- goalkeeper and captain, Jonathan Debono, who won the Maltese Premier League with Ħamrun Spartans! Jonathan played over 125 matches with our club and he has brought happiness with great moments and memories! Well Done Jonathan – a true spartan for our badge!

It-tliet punti kontra t-tim ta’ Qormi FC kienu importanti ħafna għal dan il- klabb. Kienet logħba fejn fil- bidu setgħet tmur għaż-żewġ nħat. Kellna ċ-ċansijiet tagħna pero huma kellhom iċ-ċansijiet tagħhom ukoll. Pero’ bqajna kalmi, lgħabna l- logħba tagħna, emminna fina nfusna u wasal l-ewwel gowl. Minn hemm tista’ tgħid li ħadna l logħba f’idejna u wrejna verament x’kapaċi nagħmlu bħala tim.

Pero’ din il-logħba trid tintesa u rridu niffukaw fuq il- logħbiet li gejjin. Kif kulħadd jaf dan m’huwiex kampjonat faċli, pero’ jien nemmen ħafna fil- kapaċijiet ta’ dan it-tim u jekk inżommu saqajna mal-art, nemmen li għandna fejn nieħdu pjaċir flimkien din is-sena. Nixtieq nirringrazzja lil sħabi l- players tas- serjeta li juru waqt it-taħriġ tat-training, lill- kowċis (Iro Curmi u kif ukoll lil Alfred Attard) u lill-kumitat. Wisq iżjed nixtieq ngħid grazzi lis- Supporters Mqabbin, talli baqgħu jsegwuna onlajn. Il-grawnd m’huwiex l-istess mingħajr is- support tagħkom.
